Safety Equipment for Mountain Biking

For making the mountain bike ride/trip safe, you need to carry some Cycling Sports* items:

1. *Helmet.

2. *Shades.

3. *Fingerless gloves.

4. Cell phone (smartphone)

5. Personal identification and money/credit card.

The Helmet not only protects if you fall over on the bike, it is also good for blocking if you meet some bushes and branches at head height. Do not buy too cheap here.

Shades with yellow lenses give you a clear and deep, sharp vision of the terrain. They protect you from the wind so you do not get tears in your eyes and they ensure that your vision does not become blurred which may result in a crash if you cannot see an obstacle in time.

Shades also protect your eyes against all kinds of small flying objects as well as branches at head height.

Fingerless gloves.

Fingerless gloves are good for a better grip on the handlebars and comfort. They protect your hands from all kinds of dirt and also if you fall on your bike.

Cell phone/Smartphone.

Cell phone so you can call for help if necessary. It is also useful if you want to take some nice photos of the beautiful scenery. Use a navigation app or track your trip via your Endomondo app.

Remember to fully charge the battery before starting your mountain bike ride.

Put your phone, personal identification and credit card/cash in a small waterproof plastic bag and carry it in one of the back pockets in your jersey.
